First Impression: My first exposure to this cigar was several years ago (2008). Back then, I was a rookie smoker with very little experience, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I picked up this cigar as part of a sampler and was reminded of how amazing this stick was. It was a deep coffee brown color, slightly rough in texture, and presented with a tight bounce when squeezed. All my memories from my initial encounter flooded back, and I knew I was in for a good time.

Lighting, Draw, and Burn: I simply peeled back the cap and began my cold draw process. The Cameroon Wrapper was a little sweet on the lips, and the cold draw was that of coffee with a subtle hint of cocoa. The draw itself was clear and free of any obvious plugs. I utilized wooden matches for this cigar and toasted the foot. This process did take a while, but it was worth it. The burn was even, and the ash was relatively white in color.

Flavor: The flavor remained of cocoa and coffee, but now there was a cedar component added as the cigar went into its second third. The smoke was on the thicker and creamier side, which coated my palate nicely. Toward the end, I noticed a nice clean finish, and it left me very happy.

Final Thoughts: Oliva cigars have always been dependable, and the Serie G is no exception. This cigar is perfect as an after-dinner smoke or just lounging around sipping coffee. The overall flavors were balanced and even throughout the cigar, I recommend this to any cigar enthusiast.
